Rising Stars 2017

This April, Beds and Bars hosted its annual Rising Stars programme – and this year was perhaps our most successful yet. We saw everyone from a kitchen leader to assistant manager to head office personnel apply to be part of the project.

After reviewing applications and interviews, twelve high flyers within the company were selected to take part and at the end of the 5 months, they delivered a 20 minute presentation judged by a panel, including Beds and Bars CEO Keith Knowles.

After a successful run we saw some incredible performances and ideas from those who took part. This year’s deserving winners were Fergus and Esha Makol, and we look forward to their fantastic ideas coming to life.

Winner Esha Makol says: “The Rising Stars gave me the opportunity to experience something I never thought I was capable of, express myself and really step out my comfort zone but in a positive light. It was a great way to learn so much not only about how amazing Beds and Bars are in the way they operate but skills that develop me as a person. It was also a great opportunity to meet amazing people throughout the company. Winning for me was when we were told that all of our ideas were going to be implemented. Can’t wait for [my idea] the first Belushi’s Badass Brunch Club!”

Rising stars is aimed at staff members within the company with the hunger and the potential to move forward in their career. It is an intense training program spread out over 5 months and requires work outside of office hours – anyone in the company can apply. We teach them financial & business acumen, leadership skills above and beyond footsteps training, public speaking and sales and marketing skills.

Beds and Bars supports youngsters in employment and continues to strive for the success of brilliantly performing individuals in the workplace. The Rising Stars programme is an annual event that aims to catapult high shiners in the company and provide them with new opportunities.
